Q.
Where can I go to find a shower door or enclosure
to replace my shower curtain?
- A.
Shower doors are available from glass shops, mirror shops,
various do-it-yourself building supply stores and, in some
parts , plumbing supply companies.
Q.
How do I clean my shower door or bath enclosure?
-
A.
Cleaning the soap scum and limescale from shower doors
and enclosures without damaging the metal finish of
the enclosure hardware is a major concern of the Bath
Enclosure Manufacturers Association. For this reason
we have conducted tests of the major bathroom cleaners
on the market to determine which cleaners are both
effective cleaners and gentle on the metal. For more
details, go to Cleaning Your Enclosure.
Q.
How safe is a glass shower door or enclosure?
-

All glass doors and enclosures are specified by code
to be tempered glass. Glass is tempered by applying
heat, which strengthens the glass. When untempered
glass is shattered, it breaks into large, dangerous
shards. Tempered glass, on the other hand, is much
stronger than untempered glass and, if it is broken,
breaks harmlessly into many tiny beads of glass.
When properly maintained, your glass enclosure
will provide you many years of trouble free service. Below
are a few helpful tips to properly care for your enclosure.
